This is the largest of the standard ER type ferrite cores which use circular centre-legs. The 310 series has been designed around the ER64 planar ferrite core with an Effective Area of 507mm^2. The benefit of the circular centre-leg is a reduced mean turn length of the windings, allowing the majority of the winding stack to be contained within the ferrite core, leading to better EMI performance. Customers can also look forward to reduced winding loss, leakage inductance and component length. Various core heights and materials are available, allowing higher power-density Transformers and Inductors within the same Series. The 310-Series are most commonly designed using Copper Stamped windings due to the large currents present. Some higher voltage windings dictate the use of PCBs. As with all our Series, both winding types are catered for by our library of stocked Copper and PCB windings allowing us to create your desired turns ratio and power throughput.
